The extent of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent. Regional Interceptions Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies. In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East. Iran's Declared Retaliation The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday. That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the government. Regional Fallout In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran. The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles". "UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," it added. It said debris landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian. The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
