Starting XI

Dean Henderson Had little to do to make in the first half until tested from an opponent's curled attempt. One well-timed sliding challenge against Qazim Laci highlighted excellent reading of the game. 6/10

Dan Burn A constant threat from dead balls, as always, could serve as a replacement to Stones in defense rather than paired with him. A careless distribution later in the match came close to a goal from Albania. Six

Nico O’Reilly Another composed showing from the rising star after his initial appearance against Serbia. A teammate did not capitalize on the opportunity from an exquisite backheel over their defense. The role looks secure already. 7/10

The newcomer A debut start in an England shirt. Slightly loose on the ball but his dangerous corners posed a danger. An effective pace-controller available to the manager to utilize versus teams who drop deep. Cautioned for a rash foul. 6/10

The midfielder Deliveries on corner kicks and free kicks caused problems. Enjoyed freedom to drift down the left flank but was offside as the pass came with a chance to score. Awarded a deserved substitution around the 60-minute point. 6/10

The star midfielder Played in an advanced role down the right and put in dirty work. Showed flashes of quality but dragged an attempt wide. Substituted towards the end for Rogers, his rival, after being booked. Seven

Jarrod Bowen Had England’s best chance of the first half, his effort well saved from the opposing goalkeeper. With Quansah staying deep, it fell to him to provide width out wide yet his deliveries from wide areas were inconsistent. Taken off for the final quarter-hour. 6/10

Harry Kane The difference-maker with his two more strikes for his country. The opener a trademark opportunist's goal and his next an excellent finish with his head after peeling away from his marker. Aged 32, he’s only getting better and the side are strong contenders in the upcoming tournament with him leading the line. Eight

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to influence play on the left flank. Had a presentable chance following a pass by the midfielder yet the keeper made the save. Rashford had a greater an impact in his place. Five

• Foden (replacing a teammate 63) Looked lively and linked up well with Kane in more familiar role, 6/10
• Saka (on for Eze at the 63-minute mark) Missed opportunities although his set-piece led to the opener, 6
• Marcus Rashford (replacing Bowen with 15 left) Energetic after coming on and provided the captain's brace with a brilliant delivery to the back post, 7/10
• Anderson (for the midfielder in the 75th minute) Seems settled so soon, 6/10
• Rogers (for the star with minutes remaining) Insufficient minutes to make an impact, 6
